Rivers Caucus Commends Tinubu for Suspending State of Emergency, Calls for Unity

The Rivers National Assembly Caucus praised Tinubu for suspending the prolonged state of emergency in Rivers State, which had strained the relationship between Governor Fubara and the State House Assembly. The emergency rule, declared by President Tinubu in March, led to the appointment of Retired Vice Admiral Ibas to oversee the state.

With the suspension ending on September 18, 2025, Fubara and lawmakers are set to resume their duties. The Caucus emphasized the need for unity among political actors in Rivers State to ensure peace and development.
