Rivers State Swears in Newly Elected LG Chairmen as Sole Administrators

Newly elected chairmen in Rivers State were sworn in as sole administrators by Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (retd). The ceremony took place at the Government House after the chairmen received certificates from the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

The RSIEC conducted local government elections where the All Progressives Congress (APC) won in 20 local government areas, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured three. This marks the first time the APC has gained dominance in Rivers State since 1999.

The chairman of RSIEC, Michael Odey, announced the winners of the local government polls.
