Rivers State Lawmakers Withdraw from Impeachment Process Against Deputy Governor

In Rivers State, two lawmakers, Sylvanus Nwankwo and Peter Abbe, have pulled out of the impeachment process against the Deputy Governor. They emphasized the importance of pursuing a peaceful resolution to the ongoing impeachment proceedings, which were based on accusations of gross misconduct.

The lawmakers highlighted human errors in the process and called for amicable resolutions. This development comes after the Assembly had issued a notice of gross misconduct against the Deputy Governor for the third time.

The impeachment process began amid political tensions and is set to continue until 2023.
