Ex-Aide Slams Tinubu Over Rivers Emergency Rule, Warns of Election Consequences

Buhari's ex-aide, Onochie, criticized Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu. Onochie accused Tinubu of violating the Nigerian Constitution and causing humiliation.

The emergency rule, overseen by Vice Admiral Ibas (rtd) as Sole Administrator, ended after six months of political unrest. Onochie warned that the Niger Delta region would remember Tinubu's actions in the upcoming elections, holding him accountable.

The reinstatement of Fubara and the state legislature marked the end of the emergency proclamation.
