Kaduna Road Rehab Boosts Farmers and Traders' Access

The ongoing rehabilitation of a 9-kilometer road linking Saminaka Resort and Abadawa communities in Kaduna State is rekindling hope among farmers and traders in the Lere Local Government Area. Residents express optimism that the project will significantly improve transportation, boost agricultural activities, and stimulate economic growth after decades of neglect.

The poor condition of the road has posed serious challenges, particularly during the rainy season, leading to high transport costs and increased post-harvest losses. Previous rehabilitation efforts had yielded little success, often resulting in abandoned or poorly executed projects.

The current reconstruction, managed by a Chinese construction company, is expected to address these infrastructural deficits. Local leaders, including Emir Lere Alhaji Suleiman Umar and Jafaru Ahm, the chairman of Lere Local Government Area, have commended the government's response to long-standing requests for road improvements.

The project aims to enhance access to markets, healthcare, and education, thereby raising living standards for residents.
