The Saudi Pro League has publicly stated that Cristiano Ronaldo, despite his stature, cannot influence league decisions beyond his club, Al Nassr. Ronaldo's future with the club came into question after he left the squad before a league match against Al Riyadh, leading to speculation about his playing status.

The 41-year-old forward's dissatisfaction, allegedly triggered by Karim Benzema's recent move to Al Ittihad, has cast doubt on his involvement in the team's upcoming games. Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr midway through the 2021-22 season from Manchester United, is the highest-paid player in football history.

The league, overseen by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), emphasized that each club operates independently within its financial framework to ensure competitive balance. The league's spokesperson highlighted that while Ronaldo plays an important role in Al Nassr's growth, decisions beyond the club are not influenced by individual players.
