Nigeria Golf Federation President Reveals Why Tiger Woods' Nigeria Visit Failed

Olusegun Runsewe, the President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, disclosed the reasons why the planned visit of American golf legend Tiger Woods to Nigeria for an exhibition event failed. Runsewe explained that the attempt to bring Woods to Nigeria a few years ago collapsed due to the logistical challenges of providing a private jet for his travel.

Woods, being a top-level professional golfer, required specific arrangements, including traveling on a private jet with his full entourage. Despite efforts to organize the visit, the logistical demands of elite professional golf, such as the financial structures surrounding top-level golf and the welfare status of golfers and their caddies, posed challenges.
