Travel Warning Issued for England vs. Mexico Match

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup clash between England and Mexico, scheduled for Monday at 6 PM local time in Mexico City, authorities have issued a travel warning. Superintendent Devon Cornwall and Joe Matthew from the police have urged fans to exercise caution, particularly regarding drinking and driving.

They highlighted that even small amounts of alcohol can severely impair concentration, reaction time, and judgment, which are critical for safe driving. Joe Matthew specifically advised against assuming one can safely drive after consuming alcohol, noting that individual bodies process alcohol differently.

He encouraged anyone who suspects a driver is under the influence to call 999. Additionally, the Devon County Council's highway department recommended that fans ensure they are well-rested and take regular breaks during long car journeys, especially given the late-night nature of the match.
