Navy Chief Urges NDA Cadets to Uphold National Values

On September 18, Rear Admiral Abdulrasheed Haruna, the Chief of Training (Navy), addressed the passing-out cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy during the Beating of the Retreat and prize-giving ceremony at the RSM Oliver Nzalgana Parade Ground in Afaka, Kaduna State. He urged the cadets to uphold democratic values and safeguard Nigeria’s national interests as they prepare for commissioning into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Haruna commended the Academy for its commitment to training officers capable of defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and stressed the importance of discipline, vigilance, and unwavering commitment to duty. Major General Oluyemi Olatoye, the NDA Commandant, reaffirmed the Academy’s dedication to producing officers who are physically fit, mentally sound, and morally upright.

The ceremony included the presentation of awards for outstanding performances, with Mogadishu Battalion winning five trophies as Champion Battalion and Collito Company of Ashanti Battalion named Champion Company. Individual awards were also given to cadets excelling in various activities.
