SAHCO Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification in Aviation

SAHCO (Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc) has set a significant industry benchmark by achieving the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, which recognizes its information security management system (ISMS). This accomplishment positions SAHCO as one of the few aviation ground handling companies in Nigeria and among a select few in Africa to attain this globally recognized standard.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 serves as an international benchmark for information security management, providing a comprehensive framework for protecting sensitive data, managing cybersecurity risks, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. The certification is critical for safeguarding operational systems, passenger and cargo data, and information shared with airline partners and regulatory bodies.

The certification process involved rigorous audits and compliance assessments conducted by a global accredited certification body. Dr.

Babatunde Afolabi, the Executive Director, emphasized that information security is a collective responsibility, with every employee playing a role in protecting customer data through structured training and strict policies, fostering a proactive security culture to support safe and reliable aviation operations.
