LPPC Sets 2027 SAN Application Dates and Fees

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee has announced the commencement of applications for the 2027 conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). The committee has set a non-refundable processing fee of ₦5 million for private legal practitioners and ₦2.5 million for government-employed lawyers.
The online application portal will open at midnight on November 1, 2026, and applications will close on January 31, 2027. The announcement was made in a notice signed by Kabir Eniola Akanbi, the Chief Register of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Secretary of the LPPC.
Applicants must pay the processing fee directly into designated accounts with Zenith Bank or Guaranty Trust Bank and upload evidence of payment to the application portal. The LPPC has specified that all applicants must submit clear copies of mandatory documents and, for academic applicants, seven physical photocopies of their curriculum vitae and impact statement.
The deadline for online applications is January 31, 2027, and required flash drives must reach the LPPC secretariat by 4pm on February 1, 2027.
