Sanwo-Olu Calls for Youth Leadership Transition at Summit

On Monday, during a summit held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu advocated for institutionalized leadership transition to youths. He discussed contemporary factors influencing youth attitudes toward leadership roles, asserting that whether young people matter in leadership is no longer a subject of debate.

Sanwo-Olu urged leaders to build systems and infrastructure that would channel youth energy to transform the nation. The event, organized by the office of the Vice President and the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, featured Vice President Kashim Shettima, who supported the institutionalized leadership approach to cultivate the nation's youth.

He emphasized the importance of preparing young people to take on leadership roles within established systems. The summit also included various youth groups and leaders from across the country, highlighting the need for a reliable pipeline for youth leadership to shape Nigeria's future.
