NNPC CEO Praises Dangote Refinery's Role in Nigeria's Energy Stability

The CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Ojulari, commended the Dangote Petroleum Refinery for its critical role in stabilizing Nigeria's energy system. Speaking at the Nigeria International Energy Summit 2026 in Abuja, Ojulari highlighted the refinery's contribution to meeting domestic fuel demand.

He acknowledged the refinery's performance and emphasized the need for local refineries to alleviate pressure on NNPC in ensuring continuous fuel supply nationwide. Ojulari noted that while the Dangote Refinery processes 650,000 barrels per day, it has significantly reduced the country's vulnerability in the fuel supply chain.

The CEO's comments signal a shift towards collaboration between NNPC and Dangote Group, moving away from past conflicts and focusing on cooperation in the petroleum industry.
