Opposition Leaders Defect to APC in Edo State, Citing Good Governance

Scores of opposition leaders in Edo State, Nigeria, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iguobazuwa, Ovia South West Local Government Area. The defection, which included members of the ruling party, was led by Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa.

The move was attributed to the entrenchment of good governance under the current administration led by Governor Godwin Obaseki. Idahosa emphasized the need for political leaders to deliver on their promises to the electorate.

The defectors were urged to register as bona fide APC members to participate in party activities. Local government officials, including Hon. Nosakhare Edobor and Emmanuel Ogbomo, commended the defection and encouraged new members to actively engage in the party's vision for development.

The event was attended by APC leaders such as Amadin Desmond Enabulele and Sunni Aghedo.
