Rivers State Security Agencies Conduct Show of Force Ahead of Local Government Polls

Security agencies in Rivers State staged a show of force ahead of the local government elections to assure residents' safety. The operation involved a convoy of patrol vehicles from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, NSCDC, and FRSC moving through major streets in Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State Police Command emphasized the deployment of personnel to maintain peace and order during the election. Movement restrictions were declared across the state on the election day to ensure a free and fair exercise.

The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reiterated the comprehensive security measures put in place to guarantee residents' confidence in the electoral process.
