Nigerian Senate Confirms Opeyemi Agbaje as PenCom Chairman and Appoints Commissioners

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Opeyemi Agbaje as the new chairman of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) along with other commissioners. Agbaje, a seasoned banker and policy analyst, will lead the newly constituted board of PenCom.

The Senate also approved the nominations of Hafiz Moham Kawu, Samuel Chigizi Nwandu, Charles Sylvester Emukow, Bello Abubakar Malabu, and Cyril Oluwol Fasuyi as commissioners. Bola Ahmed Tinubu's outstanding nominee was acknowledged.

Agbaje's background in finance and policy analysis positions him well for the role.
