Senator Abbo Denies Alleged Rape, Calls Accusations False Smear Campaign

Former Senator Elisha Abbo has broken his silence on the alleged rape of a secondary school girl, denying the accusations and dismissing them as false. Abbo refuted claims of his arrest by the police over the incident that reportedly occurred at his Katampe residence in Abuja in June 2025.

The victim's family allegedly received money to suppress the case, with Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed visiting to intervene. Abbo labeled the reports as fake news and part of a smear campaign orchestrated by political adversaries.

The controversy surrounding Abbo resurfaced following a previous incident in 2019 where he was caught on video assaulting a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja.
