Senator Natasha Akpoti Drags FG to Court, Alleges Political Persecution

Senator Natasha Akpoti has filed a motion in the Federal High Court in Abuja, accusing the Federal Government of using state machinery to intimidate her. She alleges that the charges brought against her are baseless and part of a political vendetta to silence her and shield Senator Godswill Akpabio and former Governor Yahaya Bello from public scrutiny.

Akpoti maintains that her statements were not related to public office and were made in the public interest. The case is set for a hearing on December 1.
