NCDC Chairman Confirms Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan Not Invited

The Chairman of the NCDC stated that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is not a member of the committee and therefore was not invited to the budget defense session. This clarification came after Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed concerns about her name not appearing on the attendance list for the meeting.

Following her inquiry with the committee clerk, she was informed that she was not a member and could not be invited. Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that the chairman acted based on instructions from higher authorities, leading to a confrontation with the chairman's aides, which included six individuals and the chairman's secretary.

The situation escalated to verbal hostility. The chairman emphasized that committee membership is determined by the Senate Committee Select and is not based on regional affiliation.

Akpoti-Uduaghan's exclusion was deemed a violation of official legislative procedures, prompting her to consider lodging a complaint with the Senate committee.
