Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Protests Senate Exclusion

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Senator representing Kogi Central, expressed her discontent regarding her alleged exclusion from the Senate Committee on North Central Development. She described this exclusion as part of a continuing pattern of marginalization within the Senate.

Upon arriving for a scheduled committee meeting, she found her name absent from the official member list. Following this discovery, she approached the committee clerk for clarification, who informed her that the committee chairman, Titu Tarteng Zam, had made the decision based on directives from higher authorities without providing further details.

This led to a tense exchange where Akpoti-Uduaghan questioned the legal basis for her exclusion, emphasizing the importance of equitable representation for the North Central geopolitical zone. In a statement released in Abuja by her media aide, Mike Idoko, she also reported that six aides, including the chairman's secretary, had seized her phone in a hostile manner during the incident, reaffirming her commitment to uphold the integrity of the Senate and defend the rights of her constituents.
