The third quarter saw Nigeria trailing significantly, and despite a late rally in the fourth quarter, they couldn't overturn the deficit. NBA star Josh Okogie's 33 points in the group stage were effectively neutralized in this encounter, as Senegal's Brancou Badio emerged as the standout performer with 32 points.

Meanwhile, former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye announced his retirement from professional football after a career spanning nearly two decades across various leagues. Ideye earned 28 international caps and scored six goals for Nigeria, and had stints in leagues such as the English Premier League and the Chinese Super League.
