SERAP Demands CBN Accountability for Missing N3 Trillion Public Funds

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has given the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) seven days to account for the missing N3 trillion public funds as revealed in the 2022 annual report. SERAP alleges grave violations of public trust and the Nigerian constitution, urging the CBN governor to identify those responsible for the mismanagement and diversion.

The Auditor General's report highlighted failures in remitting funds to the federal government and unknown beneficiaries, raising concerns of corruption and lack of transparency. SERAP calls for investigations by the ICPC and EFCC to ensure recovery and prosecution.
