Sesterce to Invest €10bn in AI Campus at Finnish Mill

Sesterce, a French technology company, has announced plans to invest more than €10 billion to develop a massive artificial intelligence computing campus at the historic Kaipola industrial site in Jämsä, central Finland. Construction is set to commence in 2026, although Sesterce has not confirmed whether full financing for the project is secured.
The company has indicated that it has secured an anchor customer for the facility but has not disclosed the identity of this customer. The decision to utilize the former paper mill site, which operated for over 60 years, allows Sesterce to leverage existing infrastructure, including high-voltage electricity grid connections, industrial water systems, and established transport links.
The initial power capacity for the campus is planned at 200 megawatts, with an increase to 600 megawatts anticipated in a subsequent phase. Elenia, the grid operator, has confirmed that the existing high-voltage connections will support the initial rollout of the project.
