Train Collision with School Bus in Belgium Results in Deaths

On Tuesday, several people were killed when a train struck a school minibus in Buggenhout, Belgium, around 8:08 AM GMT. The minibus was carrying seven children, a supervisor, and a driver at the time of the collision, which occurred at a level crossing.

The Belgian media reported that the minibus was severely damaged and lay on its side next to the railway line. A police spokeswoman confirmed the presence of emergency workers at the scene but did not provide a confirmed casualty toll.

Freder Sacr, a spokesman, described the impact as extremely violent. Belgian Interior Minister Bernard Quintin expressed condolences, stating he was thinking of the victims and their families, wishing them strength during this tragic time.
