Seyi Makinde Declares 2027 Presidential Candidacy

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, officially declared his presidential ambition for the 2027 elections at a mega rally held on Thursday at Mapo Hall in Ibadan. He announced his candidacy under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and introduced the Reset Nigeria Movement, which includes a dedicated campaign website aimed at nationwide mobilization.

During his speech, Makinde emphasized the need for economic growth, job creation, healthcare improvements, infrastructure development, power sector reform, and strengthening security institutions to restore public trust in leadership. He described the APM as a formidable third force in Nigerian politics, aiming to address the current challenges facing the nation.

Makinde's decision to run is fueled by a desire to replicate the successes he achieved in Oyo State on a national level.
