Saint Janet's Family Recalls Singer's Final Moments

Iyun Janet Ajilore, known as Saint Janet, a veteran Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician, complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing shortly before her death. Her children recounted her final moments in an interview with Alore TV.

Omowunmi, her daughter, stated that Saint Janet performed at a show in Sango, Ogun State, the night before and showed no signs of illness. The following day, after returning from the market and preparing a meal, she began clutching her chest and expressed feeling unwell.

Her family took her to the hospital, where she was admitted and given oxygen. However, shortly after arrival, she lost her pulse.

Fola, another daughter, described her mother as a caring individual who was not sick prior to her sudden health crisis. Saint Janet's manager confirmed she appeared healthy during her last performance and had communicated with him about preparing soup on the day of her death.

The family has since established a committee for her burial arrangements.
