Shettima Supports Governance Institute Bill in Abuja

On a visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima assured a delegation from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) of his support for the speedy passage of the Charter for the Governance Institute of Nigeria bill, which is currently pending in the National Assembly. Shettima acknowledged the significance of governance in national development and expressed commitment to initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional capacities and promoting ethical leadership within both public and private sectors.

Uto Ukpanah, the president of ICSAN, highlighted the bill's potential to strengthen governance practices in Nigeria and align the country with global governance standards. Shettima also discussed ongoing construction of the institute's national secretariat in Lagos, which is expected to serve as a central hub for governance education and professional development.

He commended ICSAN's contributions to corporate governance over the past 60 years and reiterated the federal government's support for initiatives that promote sustainable economic growth.
