Shettima Supports ICSAN's Governance Reform Bill

On a recent visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima pledged his support for the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and its proposed Corporate Governance Institute of Nigeria (CGIN) bill. This bill is currently pending in the National Assembly and aims to rename ICSAN to better reflect modern governance practices while expanding its mandate beyond traditional secretarial duties.

During the meeting with ICSAN's delegation, led by President and Chairman of the Governing Council Uto Ukpanah, Shettima acknowledged the importance of the bill in strengthening governance practices and enhancing professionalism in the country. He noted that the proposed legislation is expected to serve as a hub for governance education and professional development, aligning Nigeria with evolving global governance standards.

Shettima's commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen regulatory frameworks and promote transparency and accountability was emphasized during the discussion.
