Shooting Stars Assistant Coach Akin Olowokere Slumps and Dies in Training

Shooting Stars assistant coach Akin Olowokere tragically collapsed and died during a training session, plunging the Nigerian football community into mourning. Olowokere, who recently joined the 3SC technical crew, was rushed to a nearby hospital after slumping on the pitch but was pronounced dead.

The former player for Sunshine Stars Akure had previously served as an assistant coach for Edith Agoye at Sunshine Stars before joining 3SC. While the official cause of death is yet to be confirmed, fans have taken to social media to express their shock and sadness at the loss.

In a separate incident, young Nigerian footballer Ethan from Charlton Athletic Football Club academy in England also passed away, leading to an outpouring of grief from his teammates and club members. Additionally, former Nigerian international Allen, aged 59, passed away on July 14, 2025, after making limited appearances for the Nigerian squad.
