Shooting Stars Claim Last-Minute Victory Over Rivers United

In a tightly contested rescheduled NPFL clash, Shooting Stars triumphed over Rivers United with a stoppage-time goal from Qamar Adegok, securing a 2-1 victory. The match took place in Ibadan, where Shooting Stars initially took the lead in the 34th minute through Sodiq Ibrahim, who headed home a cross from Ayobami Junior.

Rivers United equalized in the 68th minute when Wasiu Falolu capitalized on a long throw that disrupted the Shooting Stars defense. Despite appearing content with a draw, Shooting Stars pushed for a winner, which came in the first minute of stoppage time when Adegok controlled a long ball from a deep free kick and finished calmly at the near post.

This victory ended Rivers United's unbeaten run against Shooting Stars, who extended their home unbeaten streak to 12 matches. Following the defeat, Rivers United's coach, Finidi George, remains at the top of the NPFL standings with 52 points, two points ahead of second-placed Enugu Rangers.
