Fire Destroys Sokoto Mechanic Village, 40 Shops and Vehicles Affected

A devastating fire incident in Sokoto mechanic village destroyed over 40 shops and vehicles, triggered by an electrical fault. The blaze raged for hours, impacting repair shops for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and spare parts.

The Nigerian Automobile Technician Association (NATA) appealed for government assistance, citing a lack of support during similar past incidents. Efforts by federal and state fire services, along with local communities, were unable to fully quench the fire, leading to significant losses for mechanics and shop owners.
