Soludo Closes Nkwo Nnewi Market Over Compliance Issues

Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has announced the closure of the Nkwo Nnewi auto spare parts market, operated by the New Auto Spare Parts Association (NASPA), as part of efforts to enforce compliance with a sit-at-home order. The closure, effective from Monday, follows a pattern of similar actions taken by the governor to curb non-compliance among traders.

The market will remain closed until March 2, 2026, when it is expected to reopen if traders adhere to the directives. Dr. Law Mefor, a state commission representative, communicated the announcement, emphasizing the need for traders to avoid the market until the reopening date to prevent further enforcement actions.

The governor's special adviser on trade, Chief Evarist Uba, and other officials, including AVM Ben Chiobi (Rtd) and Hon. Echezona Anazodo, have been involved in the enforcement of this directive.
