Six Hospitalized After Stabbing at New York's Penn Station

On Sunday evening around 7 PM, a stabbing incident occurred at Penn Station in New York City, resulting in six individuals being hospitalized. At least five victims suffered stab wounds, with one sustaining serious injuries.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear. The Amtrak Police Department quickly launched a search operation and arrested the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Hector DeLeon.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the stabbing was a random act of violence, with no evidence linking it to terrorism. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani expressed sympathy for the victims and praised the rapid response of emergency services.

He noted that the rail service was not affected by the attack. The police have advised the public to avoid the area due to expected traffic congestion and road closures.

Footage from the scene showed multiple officers restraining DeLeon, who exhibited erratic behavior during the arrest.
