TECMON Energy Advances São Tomé and Príncipe's Power Sector

TECMON Energy, represented by Vice President of Business Development Dr. Rajesh Ramchandra Kashyap, visited São Tomé and Príncipe from June 29 to July 2, 2026.

This visit built upon a memorandum of understanding signed in January 2026 with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Natural Resources. The delegation met with Mr.

Nelson Cardoso, the Minister of Infrastructure and Natural Resources, to review government priorities for stabilizing and modernizing the electricity sector. Discussions included comprehensive improvement programs covering the entire electricity value chain, fuel supply, transmission, distribution, grid efficiency, and revenue protection.

TECMON Energy proposed an integrated phased approach to fast-track power solutions within 12 to 18 months, focusing on reinforcing the transmission and distribution network and rolling out advanced prepaid meters. The roadmap suggested two to four phases over four years, aligning with São Tomé and Príncipe's national energy strategy and supporting the integration of renewable energy sources like solar and hydropower.
