Former ADC Leader Umar Salah Joins APC in Sokoto

Alhaji Umar Salah, the former Director General of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Tambuwal Local Government Area, Sokoto State, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His defection was announced after a meeting with Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the Government House on Saturday morning.

Salah stated that his decision was influenced by the transformative agenda of Governor Aliyu, who has implemented various developmental projects aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens. He pledged his total support and that of his followers to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The defection was marked by a reception led by Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal, Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board, and supported by Prof. Ahmed Ladan Ala, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education. Tambuwal welcomed Salah to the APC, assuring him of equal treatment within the party and commended Governor Aliyu for his impactful projects across the state.
