Soldiers Foil Terrorist Attack, Rescue Victims in Kaduna

On September 10 and 11, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North-West, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully thwarted a terrorist attack in Kaduna State and rescued three kidnapped victims in Zamfara State. According to Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the JTF Media Information Officer, the first operation took place in Unguwan Gardago Village, Kaduna North Local Government Area, where troops responded to a distress call regarding terrorist activities.

The terrorists had robbed residents of motorcycles and mobile phones and abducted a civilian to guide them. Troops mounted an ambush, forcing the terrorists to flee and abandon their loot, which included three motorcycles and a PKT machine gun.

Unfortunately, the abducted civilian was killed by the terrorists, and his body was later recovered. In a separate operation on September 11, troops engaged terrorists attacking a Canter vehicle along the Anka-Gummi Road in Zamfara State, leading to the rescue of three victims and the recovery of terrorist communication equipment.

The JTF urged residents to remain vigilant.
