Soludo Appoints Pardoned Native Doctor as Youth Ambassador

Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has pardoned Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, who was imprisoned for promoting money rituals and the use of human parts for rituals. Nwangwu was among eight native doctors arrested last year and had entered a plea bargain with the state government, resulting in a light sentence of 11 months at the Nigeria Correctional Facility in Amawbia.

As part of his plea deal, he agreed to renounce his fetish practices and was tasked with becoming an ambassador for youth reformation. Following his acceptance of these conditions, he served his sentence until his pardon on September 18, 2026.

Dr. Nelson Omenugha, the Special Adviser to the governor on Youth Reformation, announced the pardon, emphasizing the governor's commitment to correction and restoration rather than mere punishment.
