Anambra State Governor's Wife Urges Parents to Embrace Measles-Rubella Vaccination

Dr. Nony Soludo, the wife of Anambra State Governor, emphasized the importance of measles-rubella vaccination during the official launch of the vaccination campaign in Anambra State.

The campaign, which targets children aged nine months to 14 years, aims to protect them from the significant threat posed by measles and rubella. The vaccination exercise was kicked off at Iruzu Primary Health Center in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

Various stakeholders, including the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, World Health Organization, and UNICEF, are partnering to ensure the success of the vaccination program. Dr.

Samuel Obasi highlighted the threat of measles and rubella to child health in Nigeria, emphasizing the government's commitment to achieving high vaccination coverage. Dr.

Chimuanya Igboekwu explained the importance of full vaccination coverage to prevent incomplete protection. The Anambra State government, through Dr.

Afam Obidike and Chisom Uchem, assured adequate monitoring and supervision to mobilize stakeholders effectively.
