South African Weather Service Issues Flood Alert for Cape

The South African Weather Service has issued an orange level 8 alert for severe weather conditions affecting the Western Cape. This warning highlights the risk of flooding in various areas, including Drakenstein, Stellenbosch, Theewaterskloof, Cape Town, Breed Vallei, and Witzenberg, due to heavy downpours.

The alert indicates that the rainfall could lead to damage to roads, bridges, and homes, posing a danger to life. Additionally, the service cautioned about damaging winds and waves along the coastline, particularly in Lambert's Bay and Cannon Rock, which could threaten coastal infrastructure.
