Sowore Dodges Arrest Warrant in Defamation Case, Court Adjourns to 2025

Nigerian activist Sowore narrowly escaped a bench warrant for missing court on defamation charges against Bola Tinubu. The Department of State Services (DSS) accused him of disrespecting the court.

Sowore's lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, sought an adjournment, supported by Meta Corp's counsel. The court declined to issue an arrest warrant due to procedural issues and lack of formal charges served.

The case was adjourned to December 2025 for proper arraignment. Christabel Ndiokwelo, Sowore's co-defendant, emphasized the need for formal charges to be served.
