Court Sets Date for Sowore's Arraignment in Cyberbullying and Defamation Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled the arraignment of Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, for October 27, 2025, in a case involving cyberbullying, defamation, and publishing false information about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Department of State Services (DSS) filed the charges, alleging that Sowore's posts on social media platforms constituted cyberbullying and defamation.

The prosecution claims that Sowore's remarks were intended to incite public distrust in the presidency. The charges include accusations of knowingly publishing false and defamatory content about President Tinubu, which the DSS argues could lead to a breach of public peace.
