Lamin Yamal Overcomes Injury Fears Ahead of World Cup

Lamin Yamal, an 18-year-old winger for the Spanish national team, admitted he feared missing the World Cup due to a hamstring injury he sustained while playing for FC Barcelona against Celta Vigo on April 22. Yamal clarified that the injury was not serious and was merely a short-term setback, alleviating concerns about his availability for the tournament.

Spain's coach, Luis de la Fuente, expressed hope that Yamal would be fit for Spain's opening match against Cape Verde on June 15. Yamal participated in the team's first training session, focusing on gym work to aid his recovery.

He has not played a single game this season and is eager to make his tournament debut. Yamal dreams of lifting the Euro 2024 trophy in Germany, which he has envisioned countless times.

He is expected to play in Spain's second match against Saudi Arabia on June 21 and their third match against Uruguay on June 27.
