Advocates Push for Strategic Investment in Nigerian Sports

The 11th Ladi Sport International Summit held in Lagos focused on advocating for strategic investments in Nigerian sports. Notable speakers included Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sport Commission, and former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun.

They emphasized the importance of government support and sustainable success through transparent infrastructure development. Yemi Idowu, a philanthropist and patron of the Nigeria School Sport Federation, highlighted the role of sports as a social tool rather than merely a commercial venture.

The summit called for public investment in youth programs and the need to tailor infrastructure to community needs. Olopade discussed ongoing initiatives by the National Sport Commission to create an enabling environment for private sector partnerships, unlocking new economic opportunities.
