Adaora Umeoji Makes History as First Female CEO of Zenith Bank, Leads Impressive Financial Growth

Adaora Umeoji, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank in Nigeria, has made history as the first female to hold this position, succeeding Mr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu.

Since assuming office on June 1, 2024, Umeoji has led Zenith Bank to impressive financial performance, with a profit of N1.03 trillion in 2024, representing a significant increase from the previous year. The bank's total assets grew to N31 trillion by September 2025, reinforcing its position as Nigeria's largest bank.

Umeoji's leadership has also seen Zenith Bank maintain its strong brand influence and ranking among Africa's valuable banks. Beyond her corporate role, Umeoji is actively involved in philanthropy and peace advocacy through initiatives like the Pink Breath Cancer Foundation and Ador Foundation.
