THISWEEK Magazine Celebrates 40 Years of Journalism

THISWEEK magazine, established by Prince Nduka Obaigbena, is commemorating its 40th anniversary, alongside Obaigbena's 67th birthday. The magazine has played a pivotal role in reshaping Nigerian journalism, known for its fearless reporting and editorial innovation.

It was launched at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) and aimed to set a benchmark for both Nigerian and global media. Over the past four decades, THISWEEK has evolved, maintaining a commitment to high standards in storytelling and investigative reporting.

During the anniversary celebration in Lagos, notable figures, including former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba and former Liberty Bank CEO Lawson Omokhodion, reflected on the magazine's journey and its impact on the media landscape. Omokhodion recounted his decision to leave Newswatch to join THISWEEK, emphasizing the confidence he had in Obaigbena's vision despite concerns from colleagues.
