Book Launch on Mandatory Military Service for Youth

Sprezzatura Publishing Ltd is set to unveil a new book titled "Serve Nation," which explores the concept of mandatory military service for Nigerian youth. The launch is scheduled for February 20, 2026, at 3J Hotel, with expectations for attendance from policymakers, academics, security experts, youth leaders, and the public.

Gomb Sundai, the managing director of the company, stated that the book aims to present the current state of public discourse and stimulate constructive debate around the growing calls for compulsory military service among Nigerian youth. Dr.

Abubakar Muhammad Sani emphasized that the book does not impose a position on Nigerians but rather encourages critical thinking about patriotism, discipline, and unity in the broader context of national responsibility. He noted that Nigeria's youth population remains one of its greatest assets and that the program will include a panel discussion featuring authors and stakeholders to provide a platform for open dialogue and exchange of perspectives on strengthening national service structures and youth participation in governance and development.
