Nigeria's Oil Sector to Address Emissions at 2026 Conference

A conference aimed at addressing emissions in Nigeria's oil sector is scheduled for July 23, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The event will gather stakeholders to explore pathways for reducing emissions in line with Nigeria's commitment to achieving net-zero targets by 2060.

The conference will focus on regulatory developments in the energy transition and the extractive industry, with a theme centered on carbon capture and accelerating decarbonization efforts. Kola Adesina, Managing Director of Sahara Group, is expected to lead discussions on ongoing reforms and investment strategies to manage climate change within the sector.

The forum will also examine financial constraints and operational sustainability, particularly as the industry faces increasing pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining reliable energy supply.
