Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC filed a Public Disclaimer Notice on 10 June 2026 alerting the general public to fraudulent investment advertisements circulating on social media and digital platforms. The notice states that these materials falsely use the image of the Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited and the Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers logo to lure people into WhatsApp groups promising guaranteed investment returns.

Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC issued a Public Disclaimer Notice dated 10 June 2026, informing the public of unauthorised and fraudulent advertisements being circulated on social media and other digital platforms. According to the filing, the fraudulent materials falsely feature the image of the Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited alongside the Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers logo, and invite members of the public to join WhatsApp groups offering investment opportunities with "guaranteed returns" in "high-quality stocks."

The company stated unequivocally that these advertisements are false, misleading, and unauthorised, and do not originate from Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC or any of its subsidiaries. The Group confirmed that the use of its name, logo, brand identity, and executive images in these materials is fraudulent. Stanbic IBTC disclosed that the matter has been formally reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria. The company directed the public to rely solely on its official communication platforms — including its verified accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube — for authentic information. The notice was signed by Company Secretary Chidi Okezie.
