Funke Akindele Coaches Kamo State in Film Promotion
Funke Akindele, a prominent Nollywood filmmaker, collaborated with skit maker Kamo State in a boxing-themed Instagram video posted on September 30, 2026. The video featured both stars in matching "Starlomo" T-shirts, playfully boxing while Akindele humorously coached Kamo State on the importance of promoting his film, *StarLomo*, which opened in theaters nationwide on September 25, 2026.
This promotional effort came after Akindele faced backlash for not attending the film's premiere on September 20, 2026, leading to questions about her commitment to supporting emerging talents. The skit served as a public display of solidarity, reframing her support as active promotion rather than mere attendance.
The video concluded with both stars encouraging viewers to watch *StarLomo*, with Akindele emphasizing that selling a movie requires relentless energy and dedication.
