Stockbrokers to Discuss Capital Mobilisation for Growth

The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers is organizing its 30th Annual Conference in Lagos on November 4-5, 2026, to explore the relationship between capital mobilisation and economic prosperity in Nigeria, following a GDP growth of 4.43% in the second quarter of 2026. The conference, themed “From Capital Mobilised to Prosperity Realised: Financing Nigeria’s Next Era of Growth and Global Competitiveness,” aims to connect capital raised in the market with tangible economic outcomes such as job creation and infrastructure development.
Saheed Bashir, Chairman of the Conference Committee, emphasized the importance of translating mobilised funds into productive investments. He noted that the market capitalisation of listed companies has increased to approximately N160 trillion from about N30 trillion in May 2023.
The conference will also address strategies to enhance domestic and foreign participation in the capital market, focusing on improved market access and transparent foreign exchange arrangements.
